Diorama Printed and Painted

Image
It took a while, but I did manage to finally get a print that I like. All that was left to do was remove the supports and paint it. It took a long time to remove all the supports and I did manage to break off many components, but they were easy to glue back on. My friends who originally went to the beach wanted to help paint, specifically paint themselves so I let them help. It turned out pretty solid and I'm proud of the results, especially the look of the water.

Diorama Failed Prints

I have attempted to print the diorama model, but it keeps failing, probably because it is like a very thick block. I did manage to get it to successfully print once, however it is way too small so I need to resize and keep trying.

Diorama Model

Our next assignment is to create diorama of a memory from our life. I decided to pick a very ideal beach day I experienced freshman year with a couple of my friends. We had great weather, warm water, dolphins, and we dug a massive whole. I decided to mock up a sketch of my plans and then translated it into tinkercad. I think the model looks very cool and I am excited to start my prints.

Cuttlefish Finished

I managed to get it to print successfully, one of the tentacles did break a little bit while I was removing supports, but otherwise it was very solid. I gave it to my friend and she painted it to make the final result look pretty dope.

Cuttlefish Start

Since I finished most of the tutorials and printed a few of them, I decided to branch off a little and do my own thing. I have a friend who enjoys cuttlefish so I modeled one for her. It had similar properties to the alien.

Alien

The alien was the one tutorial we were instructed to focus on so I did and I completed it. My tinkercad was bugging while I was trying to model it so I had to memorize the tutorial and then try and create it in a separate project window. It was successful and printed well, I did end up accidentally breaking off half of a tentacle when I was breaking off supports.

Chess Piece

We started going through all of the tutorials to help get comfortable with everything tinkercad has to offer. I made it through a lot of them, but started picking and choosing ones that intrigued me. The chess piece caught my eye so I completed it, but wanted to put a frog on top. It ended up printing very successfully.
